Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall take to two wheel transportation on the Warner Bro's lot.
Betty Grable gets some knitting in between scenes.

Oh baby! I *love* photos like these! You can post more of these things anytime!
ReplyDeleteHi Martin!
DeleteYou just wait. I've got a few you'll really like coming up in this series and of course, Hollywood at Home will be back shortly. : )

Gorgeous photo of Liz!
ReplyDeleteIt's my favorite too! She was flawless and it just reminds me of how idiotic Lifetime is for making a movie about her using that awful Lindsay Lohan. It's disgraceful!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!

I can't believe it, a photo of Elizabeth Taylor I haven't seen before!
ReplyDeleteLE,
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile! I was going to save this photo when I do Elizabeth's bio in a two part series. Not happy about the Lifetime movie but it doesn't take away from her beauty or her legacy.
So glad you stopped by.

That thing Rita Hayworth's riding looks like a cross between a bike and a scooter. Never seen anything quite like it.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course big thumbs up to Bogie & Bacall on bikes.
Rich,
DeleteHow odd that I didn't notice that was some kind of scooter/bike hybrid. Not sure how she navigated it while holding her tennis racket though.

Fantastic pics, as always! I wonder what they were thinking when they snapped these shots (and what was going on out of frame)?
ReplyDeleteBarry,
DeleteI've got a few pics I'll be posting in this series that are wide shots with the cameras everywhere that are pretty interesting.
I do love these set candids.
Thanks for stopping by!

Couldn't do one post without Shirl, huh, Page? Well, I enjoyed see Roy and Dale. :-)
ReplyDeleteIvan,
DeleteWhatever gets you over here! lol
I knew as soon as I loaded that pic that Shirley was going to get clobbered.
Roy and Dale were just precious.

My first thought when seeing Gable lovin' on Missy: the man must have been a huge flirt. The color photo from "Night of the Iguana" convinces me the film would have been stunning in Technicolor. I'm a big fan of Bebe Daniels (she's just adorable), Rita Hayworth's youthful beauty was never more evident, but I really want to know why "Forever Amber" doesn't have the same sensual allure as that photo (who is the man with the smouldering stare)?
ReplyDeleteWG,
DeleteI'm a big fan of Bebe's too. You know Night of the Iguana would have been perfect for Technicolor. I wonder what their decision was behind that.
Rita was just as beautiful with her natural dark hair although the lips were a bit dark.
I had to look twice at the Forever Amber photo caption for the same reason.
So glad you enjoyed these pics.
I've got to get over to your place and others today while I've got some free time.

Love the COLOR picture of Ava Gardner and Richard Burton, on the set of "The Night of the Iguana"!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dawn! I've got a couple more photos from the film in color that I'll try to find. With that hair Ava reminds me of Clint Eastwood's wife, Dina for some reason.
