Spring Fever in Hollywood

With the lack of winter here and days in the high 70's these past couple of weeks I've decided to move past my 'fur' posts and on to our fabulous stars out enjoying the outdoors.  It's time to pack your snood and mittens away, unpack your favorite pair of skorts, find a good book and a shade tree as we move forward.  (My apologizes to all of the stars still waiting to show off their designer furs. I hope you don't molt as you wait to show off next winter.... It's just too darn hot!)

Nothing says Spring like doing some fishing! Greta Garbo looks thrilled and by the way she's gingerly holding that rod and reel I hope she doesn't land anything bigger than a tadpole.  I would hate for her toboggan to get wet.

Marilyn Monroe, letting us know that you don't need a good swing when you have curves like that!  So much for the PGA dress code!

I'm not sure what Rita Hayworth is up to out in these weeds but she looks like she's having fun. Let's face it...When you look like Rita you don't need fancy props. (My apologizes to Garbo and to any of you men who now have "Hay Fever"... snort)

Anita Louise is cute as a button as poses on her patio.

Marlene Dietrich looks horrified to be posing in a skirt as she tries to appear happy in her little garden.  I wonder if they lured her outdoors by telling her the fountain was filled with vodka and designer slacks?

Ann Sheridan is flawless as usual as she enjoys a bit of sunshine. She's giving me a neck ache!

Clark Gable and wife Carole Lombard, spending some quality time on their ranch.

Gene Tierney, giving us a bit of leg as she poses with a basket of fresh picked flowers.

Gail Russell is enjoying a bit of painting.

Anna May Wong in a natural setting.

Ginger Rogers, waiting for a game of tennis.  With her natural beauty I'm not sure how her opponent could concentrate.

Myrna Loy is adorable as she poses in her backyard.

However you're spending your spring days, I hope you're also having gorgeous weather and a lot of fun.

    1. Kristen,
The photo shoots that Marilyn did were hilarious and at times odd but she always seemed to have the best time of it regardless of what she was asked to wear or do.
      Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Ann Sheridan's shoes!
    Myrna Loy's dress!
    Anita Louise's patio!

I am resplendent in faded jeans, a cotton blouse and my red "Mickey Mouse" sneakers hoping not to frighten the neighbour children.

  4. I love "It's time to pack your snood.." I LOVE that word snood! Sounds weirder as you say it a bunch of times. Wow does Marilyn look hot! And you know, I always thought Gail Russell was one of the prettiest actresses in Hollywood. Love your pics and funny captions, as usual, Page!

    1. Becks,
So funny your mentioned snoods because my mother loves that term too! I do have one that's quite nice and warm with a faux fur collar on it in black. It's just never cold enough to wear the darn thing.

So glad you enjoyed my Spring post and stay tuned for more.

  5. I got the fever! Boy, don't Gable and Lombard look beautiful, natural and happy? So sweet. Ann Sheridan always had the best shoes! Love that woman.

    1. FlickChick,
LOL It was in the 80's here today! What in the world happened to winter? All of those poor stars waiting in the wings draped in their fabulous furs got shunned.

I love Ann's shoes too. She was impeccable! And she even looked gorgeous in that darn 'flip' do.

    1. Dawn,
I would have never imagined Ginger's tennis outfit in pink until you said that! Ha Ha Would she have been in matching pink socks too?

  8. Nice pic of Clark and Carole, one I'm pretty certain I've never seen before (and when I've never seen a Lombard photo before, that's saying something). And it looks as if Ginger is playing tennis in ballet slippers...why? Dance rehearsal to follow?

  9. Vincent,
That is great news on the photo! I'm pleased. : )
I noticed Ginger's odd shoes too. The striped socks make them look even stranger for playing tennis. They do have a hard sole so your guess is as good as mine there. I do like your idea of dance rehearsal to follow.
