Springtime for Classic Hollywood

Hello, everyone!
We're enjoying some pretty nice weather here in the south and with Spring, you can always count on some fab photos of our favorite classic stars enjoying the outdoors. Whether it's lounging around a pool, posing for photos beside a tree or just wandering around hoping to get noticed.

Let's see what the stars were up to, shall we!

Gina Lollobrigida 'hangs out' in sequins. I can't help but think this is where the creators of Gilligan's Island got their inspiration for Ginger. Does anyone else see the resemblance?

A very young, Irene Dunne spends some time on the golf course. (If I could get away with wearing this chic outfit on the golf course, I would so do it! She looks amazing.)

Janet Gaynor stays fit by playing tennis in some very stylish Navy inspired shorts.

A young and beautiful, Lana Turner finds a quiet place to reflect and show off those legs.

Jennifer Jones, dressed in the latest Spring fashions, takes time for a photo outside her Beverly Hills home.

Natalie Wood relaxes by the pool. Loving the cool blues, Natalie!

Wynne Gibson finds a quiet place to get some reading in.

Louise Brooks and her iconic bob, go for a round of tennis. (Don't you just love those shoes?)

Elizabeth Taylor stuns in gingham.

I hope you're all enjoying this Spring weather.
Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hi Page! We here in the northeast have hear a rumor that it is spring, but have yet to see any real evidence. However, just seeing those younger than springtime gals makes me feel hopeful. Love Natalie the best.

    1. FlickChick,
It may take its time but I promise it will get there eventually. : )
Thanks for stopping by and find yourself a good Springtime movie to get you in the mood for what's coming.

I do love Louise Brooks' shoes.

    1. Hii, CW!
If her shoes were athletic wear specifically made for her, they probably cost more than most people made in a month. ha ha Was just thinking too. Can you imagine playing sports in tight, long skirts? Like with Irene, having to lean down to retrieve a golf ball. Looking good required a lot of work for ladies back then.
      Thanks for stopping by,

  3. I always love your photo posts, Page. You've got some great shots, as usual. Especially love Irene Dunne on the golf course. And, yes, I agree with you about the resemblance between Gina and Ginger.

Here in Idaho, we are definitely seeing evidence of spring. My apricot tree has blossomed, and my other fruit trees aren't far behind.

    1. Hi, Patti,
How great that you have fruit trees and especially apricots. I miss having fruit trees. Growing up in San Diego we had a kumquat tree, cherry tree, lemon trees and grape vines. I've been holding off on buying plants and new rose bushes but I think it might be safe to do so next weekend. Getting to plant flowers is my favorite thing to do every year.
Glad I'm not crazy in seeing Ginger in Gina. ha ha
      Always enjoy your comments,

    1. Hi, Kev!
I hope you're getting some nicer weather. We really only had 3 days of cooler, breezy weather then the humid, sticky days started and OK has scattered tornado watches this week. This topsy turby world we live in with extreme weather has us all a bit confused and exhausted, I'm afraid.
Anyway, always good to see you here.

  5. Lovely as always, Page! I liked the Louise Brooks picture the most.
Here fall is coming, and the only change in weather is that it's raining more often.
    Kisses!
