Get Your Motor Runnin!

I thought it would be fun to have another look back at our stars and their fabulous automobiles so if you're ready let's have a look.

Elizabeth Taylor and husband, Michael Wilding show off her new convertible.

Rock Hudson takes the time to pose next to his car. Looking dapper Rock!

Rudolph Valentino channels his inner gangster. With that chauffeur and open cab it looks more like a scene out of "Sunset Boulevard" Is that you von Stroheim?

Bebe Daniels takes a moment to pose. Either that or she enjoys riding on running boards to get a breeze under that heavy fur.

Celeste Holm is beyond adorable in her tennis outfit.

Betty Compson appears to be delivering a basket of goodies. Watch out for the big bad wolf.

Randolph Scott shows off his wheels on a studio backlot.

Anita Page knows how to drive around in style.  A pretty big car for such a tiny girl.

Al Jolson looks like he's guarding the getaway vehicle.

Joan Crawford takes a spin in her Ford Roadster.

I hope everyone is staying cool in this 100 degree weather and if anyone is a classic car aficionado please feel free to let us know what make and model these fantastic automobiles are.
Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Martin,
You have great taste. If only we could go back in time and spend a week during that era, see Beverly Hills in the beginning.
Thanks for stopping by and stay cool!

  2. Wouldn't it be fun to ride in one of these cars? I went to an auto show last weekend, and they had a bunch like these. You couldn't even touch them, which was a shame, because I really wanted to sit in the back seat! Love the photos.

    1. KC,
I love classic cars too! Every year I watch the Barrett-Jackson auction and wish I could bid on one. : (
Love the old Phaetons and Packards convertibles. Fancy Smancy and very old Hollywood.
I hope you and your family is staying cool in this heat.

  3. Great photos ... I'm with Rudy ... If I had the money, I think a chauffeur is the way to go :)

    1. Hi Bryan!
Good to see you. Rudy was one cool cat. Too bad we didn't get to see him grow old.
I hope you're enjoying your summer.

  4. Hi, Page!
I'm petite, but I think I'd never drive a car as big as Anita's!
Anyway, do you know where Rock Hudson has parked his car so I can ask for a ride? :)
    Kisses!

    1. Le,
You sound adorable but I get the feeling that Rock is the type to help you with directions, give you a lift in his car but that's it! : )

  5. I am always thrilled to see old, vintage cars. I really admire the design concepts of these cars. These actors and actresses are very fortunate to have experienced riding these classy and refined vintage cars. The one Anita Page got is awesome. I can’t take eyes off of it! I would give anything to drive that big automobile. We should really get right to restoring these cars to their former glory. Wouldn’t it be a trip back in time to see these cars on the road again?

  6. Of all the car shows I’ve been to before, nothing can compare to this gallery of classic cars. For me, old vehicles like those are more preferable than some regular vehicles today. Their beauty is simply enchanting. I would really like to have one of the vintage cars above. Hope I could own one someday! :)

  7. @ Erwin: I think you’re right. The cars that we have today are also great, and without a doubt, also look and perform better. But you can’t compare it with these classics. These vintage cars are truly magnificent in their own way. For me, they have this exceptional quality that leaves me in awe whenever I see one on the road.

  8. I really find Bebe Daniels sophisticated as she stands by her car. Well, I have to say that all these celebrities look great with their cars. I know now what my father was trying to say when he told me that during his time, a star’s individuality wouldn’t be complete without his splendid car. :)

  9. I always love seeing vintage cars! Vintage cars have a certain classy appeal that never go out of style. I hope that, in a few more years of working hard, I’d be able to buy myself a vintage car too.
