Like so many actors I plan to feature here she has been sitting in limbo. I so apologize for that. Let me finish up with this Georgian Terrace post then I promise to get Part 3 up.
Thanks again and especially for your patience. Things have been hectic but I promise to get on track soon.
All the best!
PagePagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15063277863578004836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5288732393699331930.post-53970157106003065662014-03-22T17:02:12.806-07:002014-03-22T17:02:12.806-07:00Love your site, could and do spend hours on it. I wish I could have stayed longer but I think by the time I get these posts knocked out you'll agree I chose the 3 places most fitting early Hollywood and it's impact. (Of course the Thunder vs Hawks game photos won't get included but that game sure was fun. ha ha)

As I mentioned to Silver Screening above, It was very endearing that Clark attempted to boycott the Atlanta premier to show his disdain for her treatment. Once I do my post on the Fox Theater you'll get a glimpse into how African Americans were treated even when in show business during that era and beyond.

Thanks for stopping by!
PagePagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15063277863578004836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5288732393699331930.post-32461685902848623972014-01-23T05:31:08.021-08:002014-01-23T05:31:08.021-08:00Hi, SS!

I've seen photos of them since and it's such a gorgeous view. Reminds me of the old mansions and the long spirals going for days from the top.

I found it very endearing that Clark wanted to boycott the Atlanta premier due to the treatment of Hattie. He was a class act on most days. : )
PagePagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15063277863578004836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5288732393699331930.post-88875040434055600622014-01-22T15:05:08.905-08:002014-01-22T15:05:08.905-08:00Page, I'm utterly wowed by your fabulous tour ...Page, I'm utterly wowed by your fabulous tour of the Georgian Terrace Hotel! It's the next best thing to getting to see it in its heyday, smudgy shots notwithstanding! :-) What a shame Oscar-winner Hattie McDaniel was barred from her own Oscar acceptance (jerks!). Nevertheless, your tour was a wonderful treat; great job, my friend! I look forward to seeing Part 2! :-DDorianTBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01357778472575080022noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5288732393699331930.post-38825284523585037252014-01-19T08:34:11.301-08:002014-01-19T08:34:11.301-08:00This hotel is sooo beautiful!! They certainly don't make staircases like that anymore, do they?

It's so sad that Hattie McDaniel was not allowed to attend the premiere. And as a curious note, I watched Gone with the Wind exactly on december 15th... but 2009, 70 years after the premiere.
This hotel is great, and so are the photos and the text. So much history these walls have seen! By the way, I love to take pictures of ceilings when I stay in a beautiful hotel.
Kisses!Lêhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02419693749682458647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5288732393699331930.post-77942541328498612102014-01-10T07:45:58.444-08:002014-01-10T07:45:58.444-08:00I think your pictures are marvelous! But then, in the 50's all kinds of things like that were going on -- homes with fabulous woodwork inside were "updated" and people painted it all white! Now, we are all having to strip that stupid paint and get back the beauty of the wood. Excellent work, Page, and I look forward to more!ClassicBeckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03591715859057540467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5288732393699331930.post-12717809968224199032014-01-07T16:30:54.081-08:002014-01-07T16:30:54.081-08:00I'm glad you enjoyed Part One, Jacqueline.
